Question 1

What do normal wear & tear 2018 HYUNDAI KONA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 15 recorded sales of the 2018 HYUNDAI KONA with normal wear & tear damage, the median was $3,488, from $3,150 to $5,000. That is 6% below the $3,700 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,000 a good price for this 2018 HYUNDAI KONA?

Accepted Answer

412 comparable 2018 HYUNDAI KONA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,700, spanning $3,100 to $5,000. At $3,000 this one went 19% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this HYUNDAI KONA?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 HYUNDAI KONA was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 HYUNDAI KONA. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this HYUNDAI KONA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NJ - PORT MURRAY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 30 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 155,153 miles high for a 2018 HYUNDAI KONA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 HYUNDAI KONA listings at auction averaged 77,938 miles across 412 sales, so at 155,153 miles this one sits 99% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
