Question 1

What do side 2022 HYUNDAI ELANTRA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 247 recorded sales of the 2022 HYUNDAI ELANTRA with side damage, the median was $4,650, from $3,500 to $6,400. That is 4% above the $4,463 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,700 a good price for this 2022 HYUNDAI ELANTRA?

Accepted Answer

2891 comparable 2022 HYUNDAI ELANTRA listings sold at auction for a median of $4,463, spanning $3,300 to $6,600. At $3,700 this one went 17% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This HYUNDAI ELANTRA sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How much below its undamaged value did this HYUNDAI ELANTRA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2022 HYUNDAI ELANTRA's pre-damage retail value at $18,859. It sold for $3,700 — 80% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 5

Is 17,924 miles high for a 2022 HYUNDAI ELANTRA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2022 HYUNDAI ELANTRA listings at auction averaged 57,353 miles across 2891 sales, so at 17,924 miles this one sits 69% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this HYUNDAI ELANTRA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - SAN DIEGO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
