Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 52 recorded sales of the 2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $3,500, from $3,050 to $4,700. That is 4% above the $3,350 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,000 a good price for this 2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA?

Accepted Answer

1025 comparable 2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,350, spanning $3,050 to $4,400. At $4,000 this one went 19% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this HYUNDAI ELANTRA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA's pre-damage retail value at $11,266. It sold for $4,000 — 64% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this HYUNDAI ELANTRA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - ELGIN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a clean title mean for this HYUNDAI ELANTRA?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 68,340 miles high for a 2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA listings at auction averaged 80,756 miles across 1025 sales, so at 68,340 miles this one sits 15% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
