Question 1

What do front end 2017 HONDA HR-V models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 772 recorded sales of the 2017 HONDA HR-V with front end damage, the median was $3,825, from $3,150 to $5,200. That is 4% below the $4,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,550 a good price for this 2017 HONDA HR-V?

Accepted Answer

1558 comparable 2017 HONDA HR-V listings sold at auction for a median of $4,000, spanning $3,150 to $5,600. At $3,550 this one went 11% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This HONDA HR-V sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this HONDA HR-V?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 HONDA HR-V was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

How much below its undamaged value did this HONDA HR-V sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 HONDA HR-V's pre-damage retail value at $17,835. It sold for $3,550 — 80% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 6

Is 40,469 miles high for a 2017 HONDA HR-V?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 HONDA HR-V listings at auction averaged 96,421 miles across 1558 sales, so at 40,469 miles this one sits 58% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
