Question 1

What do water/flood 2016 HONDA HR-V models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 18 recorded sales of the 2016 HONDA HR-V with water/flood damage, the median was $4,350, from $3,750 to $5,400. That is 15% above the $3,788 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,000 a good price for this 2016 HONDA HR-V?

Accepted Answer

2201 comparable 2016 HONDA HR-V listings sold at auction for a median of $3,788, spanning $3,150 to $5,100. At $6,000 this one went 58% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this HONDA HR-V sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 HONDA HR-V's pre-damage retail value at $17,604. It sold for $6,000 — 66% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

Is 40,076 miles high for a 2016 HONDA HR-V?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 HONDA HR-V listings at auction averaged 107,546 miles across 2201 sales, so at 40,076 miles this one sits 63% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

This HONDA HR-V has water/flood and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

What does a salvage title mean for this HONDA HR-V?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 HONDA HR-V was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.
