Question 1

What do rear end 2017 HONDA CIVIC models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 945 recorded sales of the 2017 HONDA CIVIC with rear end damage, the median was $4,100, from $3,200 to $5,900. That is level with the $4,100 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,500 a good price for this 2017 HONDA CIVIC?

Accepted Answer

7771 comparable 2017 HONDA CIVIC listings sold at auction for a median of $4,100, spanning $3,200 to $6,000. At $5,500 this one went 34% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this HONDA CIVIC sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 HONDA CIVIC's pre-damage retail value at $18,132. It sold for $5,500 — 70% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 HONDA CIVIC. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This HONDA CIVIC has rear end and top/roof damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 79,567 miles high for a 2017 HONDA CIVIC?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 HONDA CIVIC listings at auction averaged 104,852 miles across 7771 sales, so at 79,567 miles this one sits 24% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
