Question 1

What do mechanical 2016 HONDA CIVIC models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 33 recorded sales of the 2016 HONDA CIVIC with mechanical damage, the median was $3,625, from $3,100 to $5,000. That is 6% below the $3,850 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,700 a good price for this 2016 HONDA CIVIC?

Accepted Answer

6308 comparable 2016 HONDA CIVIC listings sold at auction for a median of $3,850, spanning $3,100 to $5,400. At $4,700 this one went 22% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this HONDA CIVIC sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 HONDA CIVIC's pre-damage retail value at $9,503. It sold for $4,700 — 51% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 HONDA CIVIC. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 124,543 miles high for a 2016 HONDA CIVIC?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 HONDA CIVIC listings at auction averaged 113,897 miles across 6308 sales, so at 124,543 miles this one sits 9% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this HONDA CIVIC from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in VA - HAMPTON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Norfolk, roughly 120 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
