Question 1

What do top/roof 2022 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 15 recorded sales of the 2022 FORD EXPLORER with top/roof damage, the median was $8,250, from $6,200 to $12,200. That is 2% below the $8,450 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,500 a good price for this 2022 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

3345 comparable 2022 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $8,450, spanning $4,550 to $14,200. At $7,500 this one went 11% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EXPLORER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2022 FORD EXPLORER's pre-damage retail value at $27,135. It sold for $7,500 — 72% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this FORD EXPLORER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MN - AVON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 1,100 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $725-$1,050, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

This FORD EXPLORER has top/roof and rear end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 42,981 miles high for a 2022 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2022 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 56,093 miles across 3345 sales, so at 42,981 miles this one sits 23% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
