Question 1

What do top/roof 2021 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 22 recorded sales of the 2021 FORD EXPLORER with top/roof damage, the median was $7,000, from $4,400 to $12,600. That is 5% below the $7,400 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,900 a good price for this 2021 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

3730 comparable 2021 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $7,400, spanning $4,150 to $12,600. At $8,900 this one went 20% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EXPLORER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2021 FORD EXPLORER's pre-damage retail value at $24,628. It sold for $8,900 — 64% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a non-repairable mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2021 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a non-repairable. That is the most restrictive category: in most US states the vehicle cannot be retitled for road use and is intended for parts or export only. Import rules vary by country, so check locally before bidding.

Question 5

How far is this FORD EXPLORER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MI - LANSING. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 550 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $475-$650, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

This FORD EXPLORER has top/roof and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
