Question 1

What do front end 2020 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 2138 recorded sales of the 2020 FORD EXPLORER with front end damage, the median was $5,900, from $3,750 to $9,200. That is 10% below the $6,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,500 a good price for this 2020 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

4918 comparable 2020 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $6,550, spanning $4,000 to $10,900. At $3,500 this one went 47% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This FORD EXPLORER sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

This FORD EXPLORER has front end and side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

How far is this FORD EXPLORER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in NJ - HILLSBOROUGH. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 30 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 51,543 miles high for a 2020 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 86,514 miles across 4918 sales, so at 51,543 miles this one sits 40% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
