Question 1

This FORD EXPLORER sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 2

What does a ab-salvage-alberta mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a ab-salvage-alberta. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 3

This FORD EXPLORER has theft and all over damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 4

Is 134,527 miles high for a 2018 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 99,260 miles across 3357 sales, so at 134,527 miles this one sits 36% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Where was this FORD EXPLORER located?

Accepted Answer

The lot was held at IAAI in ALBERTA - SEXSMITH. Location sets the inland transport cost to a port or a repair shop, and state title rules differ, so two otherwise identical cars can be worth noticeably different amounts.

Question 6

Can I buy this 2018 FORD EXPLORER from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2018 FORD EXPLORER was listed at IAAI as lot 12691374 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.
