Question 1

What do side 2018 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 330 recorded sales of the 2018 FORD EXPLORER with side damage, the median was $4,300, from $3,150 to $6,800. That is 1% below the $4,350 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,500 a good price for this 2018 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

3357 comparable 2018 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $4,350, spanning $3,200 to $7,300. At $6,500 this one went 49% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EXPLORER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 FORD EXPLORER's pre-damage retail value at $20,808. It sold for $6,500 — 69% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

Is 125,083 miles high for a 2018 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 99,260 miles across 3357 sales, so at 125,083 miles this one sits 26% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What does a clean title mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

This FORD EXPLORER has side and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
