What do front end 2018 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Across 1335 recorded sales of the 2018 FORD EXPLORER with front end damage, the median was $4,050, from $3,150 to $6,200. That is 8% below the $4,400 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Was $5,500 a good price for this 2018 FORD EXPLORER?

3451 comparable 2018 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $4,400, spanning $3,225 to $7,400. At $5,500 this one went 25% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EXPLORER sell for?

The insurer put this 2018 FORD EXPLORER's pre-damage retail value at $20,910. It sold for $5,500 — 74% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

What does a clean title mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

This 2018 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

How far is this FORD EXPLORER from an export port?

The lot sat at COPART in TN - LEBANON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Savannah, roughly 400 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $350-$475, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Is 86,498 miles high for a 2018 FORD EXPLORER?

Comparable 2018 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 99,103 miles across 3451 sales, so at 86,498 miles this one sits 13% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
