What do hail 2016 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Across 144 recorded sales of the 2016 FORD EXPLORER with hail damage, the median was $4,300, from $3,250 to $6,775. That is 13% above the $3,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Was $6,000 a good price for this 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

2547 comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $3,800, spanning $3,100 to $5,600. At $6,000 this one went 58% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EXPLORER sell for?

The insurer put this 2016 FORD EXPLORER's pre-damage retail value at $11,150. It sold for $6,000 — 46% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

What does a clean title mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

This 2016 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 FORD EXPLORER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Is 143,314 miles high for a 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 118,586 miles across 2547 sales, so at 143,314 miles this one sits 21% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
