Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2016 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 107 recorded sales of the 2016 FORD EXPLORER with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $3,900, from $3,100 to $5,500. That is 3% above the $3,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

This FORD EXPLORER sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a clean title mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

How far is this FORD EXPLORER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in RI - EXETER. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 190 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $225-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 127,466 miles high for a 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 118,586 miles across 2547 sales, so at 127,466 miles this one sits 7% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 1FM5K8D82GGD00926?

Accepted Answer

1FM5K8D82GGD00926 identifies this specific 2016 FORD EXPLORER in green with a 3.5l 6 engine, all wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
