Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2016 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 112 recorded sales of the 2016 FORD EXPLORER with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $3,900, from $3,100 to $5,500. That is 3% above the $3,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

What does a clean title mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 3

How far is this FORD EXPLORER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CT - NEW BRITAIN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 120 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 FORD EXPLORER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 196,098 miles high for a 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 118,387 miles across 2596 sales, so at 196,098 miles this one sits 66% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Did this 2016 FORD EXPLORER come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with minor dent/scratches damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
