Question 1

Was $3,875 a good price for this 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

2596 comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $3,800, spanning $3,100 to $5,600. At $3,875 this one went 2% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a clear mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 3

How far is this FORD EXPLORER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NM - ALBUQUERQUE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 750 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $500-$725, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

This FORD EXPLORER has transmission damage and right rear damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 FORD EXPLORER. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 124,138 miles high for a 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 118,387 miles across 2596 sales, so at 124,138 miles this one sits 5% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
