Question 1

What do front end 2023 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 1182 recorded sales of the 2023 FORD EXPLORER with front end damage, the median was $8,600, from $4,200 to $14,500. That is 9% below the $9,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,800 a good price for this 2023 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

2640 comparable 2023 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $9,500, spanning $4,700 to $16,700. At $5,800 this one went 39% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EXPLORER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2023 FORD EXPLORER's pre-damage retail value at $36,528. It sold for $5,800 — 84% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

This FORD EXPLORER has front end and side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 22,758 miles high for a 2023 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 39,957 miles across 2640 sales, so at 22,758 miles this one sits 43% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
