Question 1

What do rear 2016 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 155 recorded sales of the 2016 FORD EXPLORER with rear damage, the median was $4,050, from $3,050 to $5,675. That is 7% above the $3,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,850 a good price for this 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

2524 comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $3,800, spanning $3,100 to $5,600. At $5,850 this one went 54% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a salvage certificate-wv mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a salvage certificate-wv. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

How far is this FORD EXPLORER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in WV - BUCKHANNON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 300 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 FORD EXPLORER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 108,723 miles high for a 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 118,670 miles across 2524 sales, so at 108,723 miles this one sits 8% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
