This FORD EXPLORER sold without keys — does that matter?

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Is 135,684 miles high for a 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 118,536 miles across 2540 sales, so at 135,684 miles this one sits 14% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

What can I find out from VIN 1FM5K8AR0GGC07383?
