Question 1

What do front end 2017 FORD ESCAPE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 474 recorded sales of the 2017 FORD ESCAPE with front end damage, the median was $3,500, from $3,050 to $4,650. That is 5% below the $3,700 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,700 a good price for this 2017 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

1877 comparable 2017 FORD ESCAPE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,700, spanning $3,050 to $5,900. At $3,700 this one went exactly at that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD ESCAPE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 FORD ESCAPE's pre-damage retail value at $14,311. It sold for $3,700 — 74% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 FORD ESCAPE was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

How far is this FORD ESCAPE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in KS - KANSAS CITY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 89,874 miles high for a 2017 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 FORD ESCAPE listings at auction averaged 78,259 miles across 1877 sales, so at 89,874 miles this one sits 15% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
