Question 1

Was $5,775 a good price for this 2020 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

4199 comparable 2020 FORD ESCAPE listings sold at auction for a median of $4,400, spanning $3,200 to $7,700. At $5,775 this one went 31% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This FORD ESCAPE sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD ESCAPE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2020 FORD ESCAPE's pre-damage retail value at $19,066. It sold for $5,775 — 70% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

This FORD ESCAPE has front & rear and damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

Is 75,623 miles high for a 2020 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 FORD ESCAPE listings at auction averaged 67,103 miles across 4199 sales, so at 75,623 miles this one sits 13% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Who sold this 2020 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was Erie Insurance Group. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
