Question 1

What do side 2016 FORD ESCAPE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 38 recorded sales of the 2016 FORD ESCAPE with side damage, the median was $3,350, from $3,000 to $4,450. That is 8% below the $3,650 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,400 a good price for this 2016 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

412 comparable 2016 FORD ESCAPE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,650, spanning $3,050 to $5,400. At $5,400 this one went 48% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a dis/dlr/exp only clean title mean for this FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 FORD ESCAPE was sold on a dis/dlr/exp only clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 FORD ESCAPE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this FORD ESCAPE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - SAN DIEGO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

This FORD ESCAPE has side and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
