Question 1

What do normal wear 2016 FORD ESCAPE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 22 recorded sales of the 2016 FORD ESCAPE with normal wear damage, the median was $3,500, from $3,100 to $4,500. That is 4% below the $3,650 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,250 a good price for this 2016 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

405 comparable 2016 FORD ESCAPE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,650, spanning $3,050 to $5,400. At $5,250 this one went 44% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD ESCAPE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 FORD ESCAPE's pre-damage retail value at $12,875. It sold for $5,250 — 59% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this FORD ESCAPE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - BAKERSFIELD. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a cert of title or salvage acq mean for this FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 FORD ESCAPE was sold on a cert of title or salvage acq. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 81,759 miles high for a 2016 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 FORD ESCAPE listings at auction averaged 81,205 miles across 405 sales, so at 81,759 miles this one sits 1% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
