Question 1

What do normal wear 2016 FORD ESCAPE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 22 recorded sales of the 2016 FORD ESCAPE with normal wear damage, the median was $3,500, from $3,100 to $4,500. That is 4% below the $3,650 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,500 a good price for this 2016 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

407 comparable 2016 FORD ESCAPE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,650, spanning $3,050 to $5,400. At $4,500 this one went 23% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD ESCAPE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 FORD ESCAPE's pre-damage retail value at $12,390. It sold for $4,500 — 64% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a certificate of title (p) mean for this FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 FORD ESCAPE was sold on a certificate of title (p). The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 5

How far is this FORD ESCAPE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in AL - BIRMINGHAM. The nearest major vehicle export port is New Orleans, roughly 350 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $300-$425, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 FORD ESCAPE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
