Question 1

Was $15,000 a good price for this 2014 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

56 comparable 2014 FORD ESCAPE listings sold at auction for a median of $4,500, spanning $4,000 to $6,800. At $15,000 this one went 233% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a bos - active (p) mean for this FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

This 2014 FORD ESCAPE was sold on a bos - active (p). The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 3

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2014 FORD ESCAPE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

This FORD ESCAPE has minor dent/scratches and normal wear damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

Is 158,538 miles high for a 2014 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2014 FORD ESCAPE listings at auction averaged 93,878 miles across 56 sales, so at 158,538 miles this one sits 69% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Did this 2014 FORD ESCAPE come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with minor dent/scratches damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
