Question 1

What do hail 2017 FORD EDGE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 84 recorded sales of the 2017 FORD EDGE with hail damage, the median was $4,400, from $3,250 to $7,200. That is 13% above the $3,900 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,300 a good price for this 2017 FORD EDGE?

Accepted Answer

1484 comparable 2017 FORD EDGE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,900, spanning $3,100 to $6,025. At $4,300 this one went 10% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EDGE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 FORD EDGE's pre-damage retail value at $14,153. It sold for $4,300 — 70% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this FORD EDGE?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 FORD EDGE was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

Is 80,023 miles high for a 2017 FORD EDGE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 FORD EDGE listings at auction averaged 93,523 miles across 1484 sales, so at 80,023 miles this one sits 14% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this FORD EDGE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - CHICAGO HEIGHTS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
