Question 1

Was $5,300 a good price for this 2016 FORD EDGE?

Accepted Answer

955 comparable 2016 FORD EDGE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,738, spanning $3,075 to $5,300. At $5,300 this one went 42% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EDGE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 FORD EDGE's pre-damage retail value at $20,798. It sold for $5,300 — 75% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

How far is this FORD EDGE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in UT - OGDEN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 FORD EDGE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This FORD EDGE has water/flood and front end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 54,402 miles high for a 2016 FORD EDGE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 FORD EDGE listings at auction averaged 97,485 miles across 955 sales, so at 54,402 miles this one sits 44% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
