Question 1

What do hail 2020 CHEVROLET MALIBU models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 118 recorded sales of the 2020 CHEVROLET MALIBU with hail damage, the median was $4,800, from $3,425 to $7,300. That is 26% above the $3,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,600 a good price for this 2020 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

1627 comparable 2020 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings sold at auction for a median of $3,800, spanning $3,075 to $8,275. At $4,600 this one went 21% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this CHEVROLET MALIBU sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2020 CHEVROLET MALIBU's pre-damage retail value at $13,594. It sold for $4,600 — 66% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2020 CHEVROLET MALIBU. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 91,042 miles high for a 2020 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings at auction averaged 75,699 miles across 1627 sales, so at 91,042 miles this one sits 20% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This CHEVROLET MALIBU has hail and rear end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
