Question 1

What do hail 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 135 recorded sales of the 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU with hail damage, the median was $7,000, from $3,800 to $10,100. That is 40% above the $5,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,900 a good price for this 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

3666 comparable 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings sold at auction for a median of $5,000, spanning $3,285 to $9,800. At $8,900 this one went 78% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this CHEVROLET MALIBU sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU's pre-damage retail value at $19,738. It sold for $8,900 — 55% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

What does a clean title mean for this CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 54,450 miles high for a 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings at auction averaged 58,653 miles across 3666 sales, so at 54,450 miles this one sits 7% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
