Question 1

What does a non-repairable mean for this CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU was sold on a non-repairable. That is the most restrictive category: in most US states the vehicle cannot be retitled for road use and is intended for parts or export only. Import rules vary by country, so check locally before bidding.

Question 2

How far is this CHEVROLET MALIBU from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in WI - APPLETON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 850 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $550-$800, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 3

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

Is 140,395 miles high for a 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings at auction averaged 87,441 miles across 453 sales, so at 140,395 miles this one sits 61% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Who sold this 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was PROGRESSIVE. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 1G1ZH5SX3GF312045?

Accepted Answer

1G1ZH5SX3GF312045 identifies this specific 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU in grey with a 2.0l i-4 di, dohc, vvt, turbo, 250hp engine, front wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
