Question 1

What do mechanical 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 151 recorded sales of the 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU with mechanical damage, the median was $7,050, from $3,550 to $10,400. That is 38% above the $5,100 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $11,000 a good price for this 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

3499 comparable 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings sold at auction for a median of $5,100, spanning $3,300 to $9,900. At $11,000 this one went 116% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this CHEVROLET MALIBU sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU's pre-damage retail value at $17,455. It sold for $11,000 — 37% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this CHEVROLET MALIBU from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MD - BALTIMORE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 40 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 64,497 miles high for a 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings at auction averaged 58,243 miles across 3499 sales, so at 64,497 miles this one sits 11% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
