Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 74 recorded sales of the 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $7,600, from $3,700 to $12,000. That is 49% above the $5,100 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,050 a good price for this 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

3503 comparable 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings sold at auction for a median of $5,100, spanning $3,300 to $9,900. At $3,050 this one went 40% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This CHEVROLET MALIBU sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How much below its undamaged value did this CHEVROLET MALIBU sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU's pre-damage retail value at $14,242. It sold for $3,050 — 79% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 87,600 miles high for a 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings at auction averaged 58,245 miles across 3503 sales, so at 87,600 miles this one sits 50% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
