Question 1

What do water/flood 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 10 recorded sales of the 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU with water/flood damage, the median was $4,400, from $3,350 to $5,800. That is 24% above the $3,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,700 a good price for this 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

840 comparable 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings sold at auction for a median of $3,550, spanning $3,050 to $5,425. At $7,700 this one went 117% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this CHEVROLET MALIBU sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU's pre-damage retail value at $16,961. It sold for $7,700 — 55% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

Is 39,150 miles high for a 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings at auction averaged 82,281 miles across 840 sales, so at 39,150 miles this one sits 52% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this CHEVROLET MALIBU from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in TN - LEBANON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Savannah, roughly 400 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $350-$475, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
