Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 20 recorded sales of the 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $3,200, from $3,000 to $4,200. That is 9% below the $3,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,050 a good price for this 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

452 comparable 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings sold at auction for a median of $3,500, spanning $3,050 to $4,800. At $3,050 this one went 13% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this CHEVROLET MALIBU sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU's pre-damage retail value at $12,425. It sold for $3,050 — 75% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 65,998 miles high for a 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings at auction averaged 87,446 miles across 452 sales, so at 65,998 miles this one sits 25% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this CHEVROLET MALIBU from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in WA - GRAHAM. The nearest major vehicle export port is Tacoma, roughly 60 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
