Question 1

What does a clear mean for this CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 2

How far is this CHEVROLET MALIBU from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NJ - ENGLISHTOWN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 30 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 3

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

Is 256,875 miles high for a 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU listings at auction averaged 87,446 miles across 452 sales, so at 256,875 miles this one sits 194% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Did this 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with left & right side damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 1G11C5SA9GU104092?

Accepted Answer

1G11C5SA9GU104092 identifies this specific 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU in black with a 2.5l i-4 di, dohc, vvt, 202hp engine, front wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only.
