Question 1

What do mechanical 2018 BUICK ENCORE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 13 recorded sales of the 2018 BUICK ENCORE with mechanical damage, the median was $4,167, from $3,000 to $7,300. That is 11% above the $3,750 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,800 a good price for this 2018 BUICK ENCORE?

Accepted Answer

343 comparable 2018 BUICK ENCORE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,750, spanning $3,050 to $5,700. At $7,800 this one went 108% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BUICK ENCORE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 BUICK ENCORE's pre-damage retail value at $15,220. It sold for $7,800 — 49% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 BUICK ENCORE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This BUICK ENCORE has mechanical and normal wear damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 74,711 miles high for a 2018 BUICK ENCORE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 BUICK ENCORE listings at auction averaged 62,596 miles across 343 sales, so at 74,711 miles this one sits 19% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
